ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) POLICY

International Journal of Nature and Environmental Research (IJNER) acknowledges the increasing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in modern research and scholarly publishing. The journal supports the responsible, transparent, and ethical use of such technologies while emphasizing that artificial intelligence cannot replace human expertise, scientific judgment, or intellectual responsibility.

AI-assisted tools may be utilized to improve language quality, facilitate data analysis, enhance visual presentation, and support research workflows. However, the use of AI must always comply with the principles of academic integrity, research ethics, transparency, and professional accountability. Authors remain solely responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, and authenticity of all materials submitted to the journal.

Principles Governing the Use of AI

International Journal of Nature and Environmental Research (IJNER) permits the responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies for limited purposes, including:

  • Language editing, grammar correction, and improvement of manuscript readability.
  • Data organization, statistical analysis, and research visualization.
  • Reference management and literature exploration.
  • Formatting, graphical representation, and technical enhancement of manuscripts.
  • Supporting research productivity while preserving human intellectual contribution.

The use of AI technologies must not compromise the scientific integrity or originality of the research work.

Prohibited Uses of Artificial Intelligence

The following practices are strictly prohibited:

  • Listing artificial intelligence tools as authors or co-authors of a manuscript.
  • Generating or fabricating research findings, experimental data, or conclusions.
  • Manipulating images, figures, tables, or scientific results in a deceptive manner.
  • Producing manuscripts entirely through AI without substantial human contribution and oversight.
  • Using AI to conceal plagiarism, falsify references, or engage in any form of academic misconduct.
  • Presenting AI-generated content as original human scholarship without proper disclosure.

Author Responsibilities and Disclosure

Authors are required to disclose the use of AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of their manuscripts whenever such tools have made a significant contribution to the writing, analysis, or presentation of the research. Authors remain fully accountable for:

  • The accuracy and reliability of all information contained in the manuscript.
  • The originality and authenticity of the submitted work.
  • Proper citation and acknowledgment of all sources.
  • Compliance with ethical, legal, and copyright requirements.
  • Reviewing and verifying any content generated or assisted by AI tools.

The responsibility for the content of a manuscript rests entirely with the authors and cannot be transferred to any artificial intelligence system.

Editorial and Peer-Review Confidentiality

Editors and reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and should not upload unpublished research, confidential data, or reviewer comments to publicly available AI platforms. The editorial board reserves the right to request additional information regarding the use of AI tools during the submission, review, and publication processes.

Commitment to Ethical and Responsible AI Use

International Journal of Nature and Environmental Research (IJNER) is committed to promoting the ethical, transparent, and responsible application of artificial intelligence in scientific research and academic publishing. The journal encourages innovation while ensuring that all published articles reflect genuine scholarly contributions, scientific rigor, and the highest standards of research integrity.

Through this policy, the International Journal of Nature and Environmental Research (IJNER) seeks to balance technological advancement with academic responsibility, thereby safeguarding the credibility, reliability, and integrity of scholarly communication.
